What are the key points in selecting a centrifugal fan?

In the selection of centrifugal fans, it is necessary to determine whether to choose high pressure, high temperature, medium pressure, or other ordinary types of fans. When choosing a high pressure fan, it is necessary to determine the density, flow rate, and pressure of the gas. These are the three elements of the process of selecting a centrifugal fan.

Density: If the density is not given, it is necessary to calculate or convert the density of the operating gas according to the working environment of the fan, such as altitude, local atmospheric pressure, working temperature, gas density, etc.

Pressure: According to the given or calculated working condition density, the working condition pressure is converted into the standard state pressure of the fan. If the fan is fed into an air box or muffler, pressure loss should be considered. The loss can be calculated or estimated. The estimated loss is generally between 100-300 Pa.

Flow rate: If the system requires the mass flow rate of the gas, it is necessary to convert the mass flow rate of the gas into the volume flow rate under the standard state of the fan. If the system requires the volume flow rate of the gas, the volume flow rate under the standard state of the fan is the same as the volume flow rate under the working conditions.
